1. The Verulam House Fund Trust was established by a trust deed, approved by the Charity Commissioners on 8 April 1997, in accordance with a Resolution made by the St. Albans Diocesan Synod on 12 October 1996. The trustees are
charged with holding the trust fund upon trust, to apply the same and the income thereof for the following objects, namely, religious and other charitable purposes of the Church of England in the diocese of St. Albans and in particular
(i) in supporting diocesan, deanery or parish projects promoting spirituality, education, service or witness and/or
(ii) in granting bursaries to individuals for the development of spirituality, education, service or witness.
2. In accordance with the terms of the trust, there are eight trustees:
· One, being a member of the diocesan synod, appointed by the Bishop of St. Albans
· One elected by and from the Diocesan Board of Finance
· Six elected by and from the Houses of Clergy and Laity of the Diocesan Synod in such a way that one member of the clergy and one lay person shall represent each archdeaconry
3. The Trustees have established a Bursary Fund and a Projects Fund and applications to either are welcomed. Application forms are available from the Diocesan Office.
