This is a working group set up to advise and support parishes in the diocese in their response to Christ's command not only to 'preach the Gospel', but also to 'heal the sick', and especially through the ministry of prayer in Christ's name.
None of us are completely whole during the earthly existence and we can be sick in body, mind, emotions, feelings or spirit. Our sickness of spirit is reflected in our relationship wtih God and our fellow human beings. It can be seen from this that healing is wider than cure. The ministry of healing should not undermine the work of the medical profession, or be seen as an alternative to it: but rather value the place it has in seeking people's health and well-being. But we know too that it is through Jesus that we find true wholeness of being. Many would say that wholeness, salvation and holiness are all differing aspect of Healing.
