Trade Justice and Fairtrade

'The wages you have failed to pay those who mowed the fields are crying out against you'
- James 5:4
'The fields of the poor may produce abundant crops, but injustice sweeps it away'
- Proverbs 13:23

In our daily lives and in particular when we shop, are we using the honest weights and scales the Bible tells us that we should?

Or are we always looking for a bargain without considering who is really paying the price?

God wants us to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly.

We should remember God's heart for justice and fairness when we consider the choices we make when we shop.

We can make a difference to the poor by buying fairly traded goods whenever we can. We can stand up for the poor by encouraging others to take their choices seriously and also by campaigning for trade justice.

'Treat others as you want them to treat you.'
- Matthew 7:12
