St Albans Day message to HMS St Albans
The Revd Keith Robus, RN Chaplain, leading worship on board HMS St Albans.
The Bishop of St Albans has sent a message for St Albans day to the ship's company of HMS St Albans, a type 23 Frigate in the Royal Navy.
From the Bishop of St Albans, The Rt Revd Dr Alan Smith
To the Captain and ship’s company of HMS St Albans
22nd June 2010, St Albans Day
On behalf of the people of St Albans Diocese I wanted to send you greeting on this the feast of our patron saint. Today we have prayed for you all in the cathedral.
I admire what you are doing to keep others safe and to bring peace to the troubled area of the Gulf of Arabia. I am sure you are already looking forward to returning home at the end of July and being reunited with your loved ones. It is a long tour but an important one. Your ship is the only one in the Royal Navy that carries the name of an English cathedral city and we are proud to be associated with you. Please be assured of our constant support and prayers as you fulfil your duties and may you all return home safely.
I wish you every blessing and God speed.
+ Alan St Albans
P.S. I hope you get to watch or hear the match tomorrow. Come on England!
