Assisted Self Appraisal
Assisted Self Appraisal is the principal scheme sponsored by the diocese for the pastoral support of clergy, Readers and Churchwardens.
ASA was introduced in 1990 and aims to “nurture ministers in discipleship, helping and challenging them to use their strengths more creatively and looking at areas where they could be more effective”. It uses trained assistants with a wide range of skills, who meet with clergy or readers several times a year to review their work and to provide support and encouragement. The agenda of each meeting is established by the clergy or reader and the scheme is both voluntary and confidential.
Anyone in ministry can join in Assisted Self-Appraisal by contacting the Co-ordinator, The Revd Pat Quint. She will ask you what you are seeking in an Assistant and will then put you in touch with an appropriate Assistant.
