The Caribbean Links Group
The Caribbean Links Group is a Diocesan agency reporting to the Board for Church and Society. The main purposes of the Group are to:
- Develop and maintain links between the Diocese of St Albans and dioceses in the Province of the West Indies, in line with Partnership arrangements within the Anglican Communion.
- Promote sharing and exchange between parishes, departments, and organisations of the Diocese and Caribbean partners.
Currently the Diocese of St Albans has links links with the Dioceses of the Windward Islands, North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba, Belize and Guyana.
The Group encourages the exchange of prayer, information and personnel - and offers support in time of need. After Hurricane Ivan in 2004, St Albans responded with an appeal for funds to help rebuild the shattered church buildings of Grenada and Carriacou. Over £22, 000 was raised.
