            Presentation of candidates

            Decision            (omit ‘May God who has given you the desire to follow Christ’)

            Signing with the Cross

            Prayer over the water             (please consult the Bishop if not using the standard prayer)

            Profession of faith

            Baptism

            [Clothing]

            Declaration by those affirming their baptismal faith]    (if there are candidates for affirmation)

            [Declaration by those being received into the C of E]            (if there are candidates for reception)

            Prayer ‘Almighty God, we thank you for our fellowship …’

            Confirmation

            [Affirmation of baptismal faith]            (if there are candidates for affirmation)

            Reception into the communion of the C of E]  (if there are candidates for reception)

            Prayer ‘Defend O Lord’
