PA to the Diocesan Secretary

The Diocesan Secretary is looking to appoint a senior PA who will provide secretarial and administrative support including managing her diary, committee and HR administration, and contributing to the overall running of the Diocesan office. This is a wide-ranging role requiring flexibility and a ‘can-do’ approach. Applicants should be graduates or equivalent with first rate IT skills: an understanding of the Church of England would be an advantage.

Researcher & Assistant Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs for the Bishop of St Albans

The purpose of the post is to support the Bishop of St Albans in his diocesan work and in his Parliamentary duties. It will also add additional capacity to the work of the Parliamentary Unit as well as becoming involved in the Church’s wider public policy and Parliamentary work. This wide-ranging role will include research and information gathering, briefing, speech writing managing appointments, events and other activities on behalf of the Bishop of St Albans and the Parliamentary Unit. This is aunique opportunity togain experience, training and guidance in a range of areas relating to Parliament and the Public Affairs work of the Church of England, including working alongside Parliamentarians on legislative issues.

Salary – £15,268 per annum (full time equivalent £17,813)
Location – Church House, Westminster, London (occasionally at the Bishop’s office, St Albans)
Contract type – 30 hours per week, 12 months contract
