Head of Marketing, St Albans Cathedral

This is an exciting opportunity to head up the Cathedral Marketing Team at a time of significant change and development. The Cathedral is delivering its £7m, Lottery funded project, Alban, Britain’s First Saint: Telling the Whole Story (ABFS) and new Mission Action Plan (MAP).  The Head of Marketing is a member of the senior management team at the Cathedral, providing a marketing focus to the development of strategy and operational delivery.  This is the ideal role for someone who has an established career in marketing and is looking for a leadership role in a dynamic and growing organisation, more responsibility and fresh challenges.

This is a full time or near full time (four days a week) role reporting to the Cathedral Administrator.

Director of Music, St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford

Following the departure of the current post holder after 14 years, a Director of Music is required from January 2020 for St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford.  This is a town centre parish church in the Anglican choral tradition. St Michael’s has a rich and varied musical life, with a traditional robed choir of adults and children, as well as a less formal music group, which lead the music for the wide range of  worship styles that are offered.  A full Choral Evensong is sung each month. There is a fine 3 manual Walker/Manders organ (rebuilt in 2016), a chamber organ by Peter Collins, and a good grand piano in the church.  These instruments are used both for worship and for concerts and recitals that take place. The music library is extensive, and has been extended every year.  The Director of Music is assisted by an Organist and Assistant Organist. The church is affiliated to the RSCM.
