Parish Administrator – The Parish of Abbots Langley

We are looking for a new Parish Administrator.

You’ll be a highly organised person with good IT and people skills, based in the church office at St Lawrence for 20 hours per week spread across five days.

You will offer general administrative support across all areas of church life, deal with callers to the office, including those organising weddings, christenings and funerals. You’ll have a key role in supporting many of our services and events.

You will work closely with the Vicar, churchwardens and many volunteers.

You do not have to be a churchgoer to apply for this role.

Salary: £12,108 p.a.

Volunteer ‘Alongsider’ – Sisters of the Church, Bristol

The Sisters of the Church in Bristol are offering an opportunity for a person to explore their calling to ministry in an exciting and different context.

They have a Community House from which the ‘Loaves and Fishes’ Project is administered.  Whilst, in essence, it is a ‘food bank’, it also provides wide support and pastoral care to a significant population of people in need.  It serves a hugely varied population of people who  are homeless, refugees, addicts, prostitutes, extreme poverty, with mental health issues and so much more.  It is also a Community House; with, in addition to the Sisters, associates, staff and volunteers. The House and its work are a significant part of the very diverse St Pauls community in Bristol (see https://www.stpaulscarnival.net/ ).

The Community, guided by Sister Aileen (the Sister Provincial) and Sister Teresa Mary (Sister in Charge, Bristol), has decided it would be good to offer a residential place in the Bristol Community House for an ‘Alongsider’ (volunteer).  This is a splendid opportunity for someone exploring their vocation and reflecting on ministry; it might be someone pre or post BAP, or considering lay ministry; or, indeed, a post-grad student at one of our universities engaged in a research degree; or who knows what…..

Facilities & Site Manager – St Mary’s Church, Watford

This is an important role for the effective working of St Mary’s Church.  The Facilities & Site Manager is responsible for promoting, developing and maintaining St Mary’s Church as a ministry centre and a resource for the community, in line with the vision and values of the Parochial Church Council.

£7,500 p.a. for 15 hours per week (£20,000 p.a. full time equivalent). Initially an 18 month appointment with potential to become permanent.

St Albans Cathedral’s Marketing team has a permanent full time position for a Marketing Assistant, working with a wide range of departments at the Cathedral, attracting new visitors and raising the Cathedral’s profile nationally and internationally.  Third party relationships are also key, working with organisations, the media, event organisers and suppliers on a regular basis.

This is the ideal position for someone who is looking to develop a career in marketing and to gain experience in a vibrant and varied environment.
