Diocesan Secretary

The Diocesan Secretary is the chief lay officer of the Diocese.   The role is strategic and collaborative, and involves the care and supervision of colleagues, strong management, forward thinking and the management of change as the diocese responds to new challenges and opportunities.  As a member of the Bishop’s staff team, the Diocesan Secretary contributes directly to strategic objectives and to ‘Living God’s Love’, which is the ongoing vision of the Diocese.

We are looking to appoint a new Dean to lead the Cathedral community in sharing and demonstrating the Gospel in the City of St Albans and across the counties of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.  The Dean of St Albans is appointed to lead the life and work of the Cathedral, and to share with the Bishop and other senior colleagues in the oversight of the Diocese of St Albans and in supporting our vision of ‘Living God’s Love’.

Marketing Executive at St Albans Cathedral

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cathedral Marketing Team as we look to the post Covid future and re-opening to visitors.

Working with the City’s visitor strategy, our aim is to make St Albans a first-choice destination for tourists and pilgrims alike. The role of Marketing Executive is a newly created position to raise the profile of the Cathedral nationally and internationally.  It covers an extensive range of marketing and professional skills including social media, email marketing, print, design and copywriting.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Head of Marketing. However almost full-time hours would be considered for the right applicant. The role will work alongside another Marketing Executive.
