Innovation in the Box – Designing for Christian Community (RNP)
5th May @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
Innovation in the Box
The world is changing at quite a pace and we are all witnessing a massive shift in the culture we live in. The way we do ‘church’ and continue to communicate the Christian message faithfully to those around us is changing too.
So we’re planning a series of events which we hope will provide creative space to explore together why mission is essential wherever we are and how we cam all ensure that new worshipping communities continue to multiply.
“The best way to honour our parents is not to wear their old clothes, but to pass their story on.”
Innovation in the Box will include two training days, a summer school and a series of short films.
Day 1: Designing for a Christian Life (Luke’s gospel) – Book Here
Why making new disciples through new worshipping communities is key in today’s missional context.
Thursday 27th February, 9:30am tp 3:00pm, at Youthscape, Luton.
Day 2: Designing for Christian Community (Acts) – This Booking
Why new Christian communities are an expression of the life of the Trinity.
Tuesday 5th May, 9:30am tp 3:00pm, at Youthscape, Luton.
The training days will be facilitating by Revd. Canon Tim Lomax and Dr. Mark Dunwoody:
Revd. Canon Tim Lomax is the Director of Mission for the Diocese of St Albans in the Church of England and a Residentiary Canon in St Albans Cathedral. His curiosity lies in rediscovering the church’s part in God’s mission and the reimagining of church in today’s world – creatively encouraging entrepreneurial vision and the development of new worshipping communities, by fusing the contemporary and the ancient. He adopts a coaching approach to projects in order to empower other leaders in pioneering work.
Dr. Mark Dunwoody has a doctorate in practical theology and has worked across three continents designing change for denominations. He has a particular interest in change management and developing agile practices that encourage a blended ecology of denominational churches.
