Makaton Training Day with Christian faith signs (YAC)
17th October @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Makaton is a sign language used with people with learning disabilities. It is a key word signing system to help people understand spoken language (BSL is a separate language used by deaf people that does not rely on spoken words).
The day will cover:
- What is Makaton
- Why do we use Makaton
- Learn stages 1
- Importance of interpretation
- Signs we use for faith
- Practical singing & signing activities.
It doesn’t matter if you have done some signing (even BSL) before – this course is for everyone. Becky Lyddon the trainer, is a regional Makaton tutor.
Bring your own lunch, other refreshments will be provided. A certificate and booklet will be given to each attendee.
