Managing the pressure of ministry – how to be ordained without going under
Church ministry brings with it all the pressures of leadership and more: both the frustration of never doing everything you could do (and, perhaps, feel you ought to do) coupled with various conflicts with church members and the secular environment we live within.
This day combines a big-picture look at what our ministry is really all about, an explanation of why it can be so stressful and the signs of ‘distress’ to watch out for, plus a number of practical tools to cut our feelings of guilt and let us, under God, take control of our priorities and responsibilities rather than letting them control us.
If are too stressed or busy to come to this day, you certainly need to come to this day.
John Truscott is an independent church consultant and trainer who champions the ministry of ‘creative organisation’. He has spent over 35 years promoting the spiritual gifts of administration which God gives to his Church.
He works with clergy, lay leaders and Church Administrators, and boards and staffs of mission agencies. He is passionate about helping the Church become effective for Christ in all it seeks to be and do.
