Mindful of our common history, religion and culture and also of the spirit of concord and peace that underlies modern European unity, it is the purpose of our diocesan Europe Group to promote ecumenical understanding and community connections between the people and churches of the Church of England Diocese of St Albans and churches in other European countries, so that they may learn from each other.
The Europe Group is keen to encourage exchanges between our churches and partners across Europe.

In April 2018 a small representative group from our diocese attended a CALL (Church Action on Labour and Life) Conference in Berlin, exploring ‘Digitalisation and the future of work and social relations‘. The conference gave consideration to the ‘rapid development and technological change and its impact on work, society and social relations’: a summary report of the conference is available here: Digitalisation and work / social relations 04-2018
Our recently produced leaflet has been distributed to churches (Feb 2016), giving up to date information about the links we are currently aware of and committed to; you can download a copy here: Leaflet: Links-Europe
