Prevent Incitement to Violence that could lead to Atrocity Crimes – launch of Plan of Action at UN

In July this year, the Revd Bonnie Evans-Hills, representing the UK Coalition for prevention of incitement, & Anglican Inter Faith Network, was invited to attend and make a statement to the UN, at the launch of this Plan.  You can read Bonnie’s prepared statement here, it opens:

Fear has a purpose.  It keeps us safe when we are under threat  ……….  But to live in a constant of fear, real or imagined, is to be in a state of constant anxiety ………  It creates conflict, generates pain, and makes us believe there is not enough to go around.

For your interest, an Advanced Copy of the Plan of Action on this issue is available here.

European Link Visit: Kimpton & Schonermark (in former East Germany)

A link between the above named parishes was established shortly after the wall dividing Germany came down.  Visits happen every two years, and this summer it was Kimpton’s turn to host.  Their busy schedule included a visit of the Madina Mosque in Luton, as well as the Peace Garden at All Saints Church in Luton; visitors from Germany shared that each of their seven villages host Muslim refugees from Syria and Albania.
