Mission Action Plans

Mission Action Plan is a tool that each parish is invited to use to help the church to grow: to grow spiritually, numerically and to grows its presence and witness in the community. A Mission Action Plan will help you to prayerfully journey forward, and be effective in Living God’s Love.

There are lots of resources available to help you create, renew and review your Mission Action plan, as well as to keep it as a ‘live document’ that some aspect of is discussed at each PCC meeting. Some of these resources are helpful to get you going the first time you do a MAP or when you do a major ‘upgrade’, whereas some of them will help you review or refresh your MAP. Some of the resources are conferences like ‘Leading your Church into Growth’, hour-long webinars, ‘Zoom Cafes’, or Mission Action Planning workshops. As well as this there are printed materials to help you – some of these are designed to also be used with a PCC. For example, you can download the booklets below to assist in your planning:

You can download the booklet below to assist in your planning; it outlines the Mission Action Planning process and cycle and will help you get started. It links to the Mission Tree as it forms the trunk of the tree and the specific areas of Mission are further resourced on the Mission Tree itself. You can use the Mission Tree to support your Mission Action Plan when it comes to setting priorities and discerning areas of Mission.

Each Parish/Benefice is at a different stage so whether your MAP needs an annual MOT (refresh), a 10k mile service (adjusting priorities and goals) or an upgrade (re-setting of vision), we look forward to meeting you and supporting you on the next stage of the journey.
