Our Looking

What progress have you made with the Goals from your previous MAP, and what do you want to celebrate?

  • Vestry Project completed

    Vestry completed

  • Growing our sense of Community where every member belongs, grows and plays a part.
  • Communication - improving with a mixture of connecting points - noticesheet, website, Facebook.

What Goals did you set where you saw less progress than you would have liked?

  • Growing every member - difficult to get folk to buy into the opportunities we have so far given them. Some but not enough.

Things seen about our local community

  • School - is central to the life of the Parish, and opportunities we have to contribute to village life.
  • Life - is increasingly demanding and busy for people; Sunday may not be best time for some.
  • Community - the demands of life are eroding this, but we have a chance to help restore it.

How have you begun to engage with these concerns / needs / issues?

  • Time for You - Tuesday 'Drop In' offering a chance to support, encourage and grow those who join us.
  • Establishing a richer mixture of events for folk on the fringe and beyond to join us for Fun & Faith.
  • Task Groups - PCC split into 4 groups with particular areas of work and ministry, to encourage greater initiative and "buy in" from members to make things happen and grow.

Our Discerning

Vision (for five years' time)

We will seek to: SHOW the love of Christ, so that others may come to KNOW the love of Christ, and together we may GROW in the love of Christ. "We love to see others come to know Jesus."

Current Situation

From our Parish Statistics for Mission, we see that we are / have...

NOT growing. In part this is because some have left to serve elsewhere, some have stopped coming on Sundays due to work, BUT we do have new members who usually come less frequently.

Priorities (for the next five years)

  • LyCiG - embrace the varied mindset for Growth, as well as use the Weekend of Invitation to grow our mindset to invite others to join us for a variety of events as well as Sundays.
  • Improve our Facilities in the Church Hall so that we can host a greater variety of events/serve need more easily and comfortably, including Accessible Toilet and refurbished kitchen.
  • Sustain and grow every member!

Goals (for the next year)

  • Install Accessible Toilet in Church Hall
  • Weekend of Invitation - get used to inviting!
  • Continue with 'Time for you!'
  • Reach out more to community to develop relationships by serving a need, sharing the Good News, and so closing the gap between church and village. (Mens Work, School Christian Club, Cook on a Budget)
  • Increase opportunities to share the Gospel - Alpha at Toddler Group
