Our Looking
Things seen about our local community
- Our village has a community spirit and the church is part of that.
- Some of the older residents struggle because of limited bus routes.
- We are a relatively affluent rural parish which borders Stevenage.
Three things we have seen about our church
- There is a strong sense of friendship and care within the congregation and a desire to live as disciples.
- Our children's work has good connections with young families, but most rarely attend the main parish Eucharist.
- We are a relatively affluent parish but are struggling with our church finances.
Our Discerning
Vision (for five years' time)
All Saints will be an all-age family growing in faith and numbers through prayer, teaching and worship - and reaching out to the community in and with the love of Christ.
Priorities (for the next five years)
- To develop more age inclusive worship in both 9.30am and 11.15am services.
- To encourage villagers 'this is your church'.
- To encourage 'young' faith.
Goals (for the next year)
- Through hymns, drama & instrumentalists and children in beginning of 9.30am, make 9.30am & 11.15am services feel more united.
- Hold three specific 'village' services this year Jubilee /Songs of Praise / Pet service.
- Run a short term discipleship course.
- Involve teenagers in activities outside the parish.
- To engage with Diocesan resources for a Stewardship campaign.
