Things seen about our local community

• It is a rural parish which is soon to lose the part of a housing estate in its south west corner.
• The population is c.270 (2009 population estimate).
• Some people in the parish are willing to support the church building.

Three things we have seen about our church

• It is one of only two community buildings in the village. The Village Hall is the other.
• W benefit from being part of the Ouzel Valley Team ministry - team vicar and reader.
• There is a strong, if small, core of helpers and supporters who worship regularly and good support from SMILE.

Vision (for five years' time)

An active congregation with regular services in a building that encourages people to visit and attend the services.

Priorities (for the next five years)

• To repaint and maintain the church building.
• To maintain the twice monthly Communion Service.
• To encourage the participation of the village community in the life of the church.

Goals (for the next year)

• To raise church funds through regular village events - ongoing.
• To look for suitable sites and means of advertising the church - before end of year.
• To build on links made with the nursery and encourage family participation - ongoing.
• To try to have church open on a more regular basis - ongoing.
• To work with SMILE (St Michael's in the life of Eggington) to introduce a new evening social event.
