Our Looking
Things seen about our local community
- There is a good link between the church, the chapel, and the Parish council and Nursing home.
- The parish comes together for our village Nativity procession.
- There is a good county Primary school in the village which we are building links with, offering end of term services, etc.
Three things we have seen about our church
- Numbers are static, but some new faces. We now have a Portaloo!
- We continue to have a service every Sunday apart from heavy snow days and the fifth Sunday in a month when we join St Ippolyts.
- Church is open every day, we know this is valued by folk who visit. Continue to care for the building when finances allow.
Our Discerning
Vision (for five years' time)
Our Vision is to be 'that lovely little church at the top of the hill, (paying its way) and being a valued presence in the village'.
Priorities (for the next five years)
- Maintain the building and try as hard as we can to pay our full parish share.
- Build on our successes.
- To encourage more involvement of our congregation in any fundraising events, rather than just leaving 2 or 3 to run everything.
Goals (for the next year)
- This year to have three services that are 'special'.
- For example, a pet service or thanksgiving for home baking at Lammas Tide. Use Festivals of the church and Saints' days.
- To build on our successful Nativity procession involving the whole village.
- To try our best to keep to our priorities (as above)
- To improve our skills at publicising events and special services.
