Our Looking

What progress have you made with the Goals from your previous MAP, and what do you want to celebrate?

  • Generally the goals have largely been fulfilled.
  • We can celebrate the way in which our church building continues to be increasingly important to the community.
  • Our interactions as a church with the ice of the village has grown during the past years

Things seen about our local community

  • The nature of the community continues to change.
  • Our physical location removes us to some extent from village life.
  • We note the many modern diversions open to families on Sunday mornings.

How have you begun to engage with these concerns / needs / issues?

  • Going out to the community more rather than hoping that they will come to us.

Our Discerning

Vision (for five years' time)

An open and welcoming church which continues to maintain a Christian presence within the community and which seeks to serve the needs of the people entrusted to us.

Current Situation

From our Parish Statistics for Mission, we see that we are / have...

Very much the same as we have been in terms of church attendance and contact through occasional offices

Priorities (for the next five years)

  • To make greater pastoral contact with residents wherever possible.
  • To improve our communication within the parish.
  • To engage with the huge restoration work we now face to ensure that our church building remains a viable place of worship and activity for the future

Goals (for the next year)

  • To undertake our restoration project to keep the church building open
  • To review our policies and practices to ensure that important issues such as safeguarding and , health and safety and accessibility have been adequately considered
  • To make better use of the resources at our disposal to make worship increasingly comfortable for both members and visitors. To replace our service books with more up-to-date and revised copies
  • To continue to provide services for the community such as the 'Old Warden News'. This continues much as before as we try to find new ways to serve the community. A planned new venture is to try to integrate the parish IT strategy more successfully. We hope that this will coincide with the projected launch of a new Benefice website
  • To build upon the occasional offices of the church more effectively
