Our Looking

What progress have you made with the Goals from your previous MAP, and what do you want to celebrate?

  • A newly qualified Lay Leader of Worship has joined the tam allowing a wider range of services to be conducted.
  • Junior Church has been established a key component of a monthly Sunday service.
  • A new website has been produced and launched providing details of all Church services and activities.

What Goals did you set where you saw less progress than you would have liked?

  • Wider range of services e.g. invitational not been achieved main reason being that there has been time pressure on other key areas e.g. junior Church.
  • Formal care groups not been established but progress has been made in identifying needs. Delay as the approach been trawlwdd across the Benefice and this has caused the delay.

Things seen about our local community

  • We have increasing housing in the parish, more than doubling the size of the village, occupied primarily by people who commute to work and to shop.
  • The only community focus points in the parish are a pub, school (which is a church school) and new sports centre.
  • As the village has increased in size there is an urgent need to provide a full range of social and leisure activities for a wide age range.

How have you begun to engage with these concerns / needs / issues?

  • A range of social activities have been held in the Church to encourage people to "enter" the Church and the Church runs an Open morning first Saturday every month with refreshments to encourage involvement.
  • Church related activities are held regularly during the year in Church and in the Village Hall.

Goals (for the next year)

  • To introduce a diverse range of services that cater for all ages, including new services and activities.
  • To identify, develop and run a pattern of termly short discipleship courses to build people's knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith.
  • To establish & practice a welcoming culture that builds the Church family and makes us attractive to new members.
  • To install a new sound and projector system to enhance the range of services and service delivery; and to provide a facility for use widely within the village community.
