Our Looking

Things seen about our local community

  • We recognise the worth of our congregations and buildings as valuable resources for reaching out to our communities.
  • Children at our local schools appear to have only a limited appreciation of 'church'.

Three things we have seen about our church

  • The need to deepen our faith through prayer and Bible study.
  • The need to draw in families, children and young adults and reveal to them God's love.
  • The need to seek out and use the 'Talents' we have within the parish family.

Our Discerning

Vision (for five years' time)

We, the Church in Holy Trinity and Christ the King, exist to work for the coming of God's Kingdom by offering worship to God, showing the love of God through Christ, supporting and serving everyone in the whole parish and beyond in order to develop awareness of ourselves and others, to grow together in faith and to encourage others to know God.

Priorities (for the next five years)

  • Faith development: Create additional Bible study groups / re-energise Prayer & Care Group
  • Community Development: Plan for the long term growth of this Church family through Parish activities.
  • Making New Disciples: Improve communications and contact with newcomers.

Goals (for the next year)

  • To make the opportunity for outreach afforded by our 150th Anniversary years celebration count.
  • To continue our support for Bridgebuilders and Street Pastors (both financially and by voluntary aid).
  • To continue our support for Mission in Tabora, Tanzania.
  • To attract and engage with new Priest-in-Charge and Curate.
  • To be ready to play a full part in welcoming incoming residents of the Stevenage West Development.
