Prayer and Worship

View Events

As we are created by God to know and worship Him, so worship is at the heart of being a Christian, both privately and together with others. In worship we go deeper into our relationship with God and, as a result, it becomes the mainspring for mission and service: making new disciples and transforming communities.

On these pages you will find aids for personal prayer as well as liturgical resources.

If would like to find out how to pray click the ‘How to Pray’ link on the right.

If you are looking for Diocesan services and information (Confirmation, Inauguration of a New Ministry) or are putting together a service and looking for liturgical resources, please click here

The Diocesan Worship and Liturgical Committee (DWLC) is appointed by the Bishop and exists to support and resource the liturgy and worship in the diocese at all levels. It does so through the provision of training events, orders of service and other liturgical resources, as well as through practical support, guidance and advice in liturgy and music to deaneries and parishes. The DWLC is also a link between the work of the work of the central Liturgical Commission and the diocese.

For advice and liturgical enquiries please contact the Chair, The Revd Richard Watson

For advice on licensing services, confirmations and other services which the Bishop of St Albans attends please contact his Chaplain, or in the case of the one of the Suffragan Bishops, their relevant offices.
