Get Involved
Think about joining with those locally who are already active, or starting a group if one does not exist.
Many individuals and groups have indicated their desire to help with the crisis and it has been very encouraging to hear of meetings, actions and plans from across the diocese. We encourage these positive responses; please keep us informed about what you are doing and join our Facebook and Twitter groups to communicate with each other and share stories.
Action for these groups so far have included:
- Holding public meetings
- Forming a local steering group
- Meeting and encouraging the support of local politicians
- Organising collection and fund raising events
- Networking with other local agencies to support them in their response
The diocese have a group of volunteers who seek to support refugee and asylum seeker issues, if you are interested in being a part of this group then please contact the Mission Dept
