Thy Kingdom Come 2022
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from 26 May to 5 June, Ascension to Pentecost, for people to know more of Jesus. Christians from 172 countries have taken part in praying ‘Come Holy Spirit’, so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ.
In Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire an ecumenical planning group has worked together to encourage people to pray Thy Kingdom Come throughout the 11 days from Ascension to Pentecost. Having been inspired by the hymn written for the Platinum Jubilee, the group has taken the theme for 2022: “Rise Up and Serve: Prayer as Service and Service as Prayer”.
It is hoped that everyone who takes part will:
- Deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ
- Pray for five friends or family to come to faith in Jesus
- Pray for the empowerment of the Spirit that we would be effective in our witness
