If you believe that God is someone you can meet not only in a church context but in other settings too, then you might be interested in the work of Workplace Matters (WM).
WM, an ecumenical charity which takes Christian values into the workplace, aims to encourage and empower a positive engagement with economic life.
Among its activities are:
- Supplying Workplace Chaplaincy – providing expertise in pastoral and spiritual care in the workplace, regardless of faith or gender, to everyone. The basic principle of chaplaincy is to provide an independent and confidential ‘listening ear’ encouragement and mutual support to all employees. WM has Chaplaincy services at London Luton Airport, Luton Vauxhall, Luton Casino, Herts-Beds-Bucks Fire, Ambulance & Police, and along the Waterways.
- Consultancy & Leadership Development – via leading Christian consultants and practitioners who have a combined wealth of expertise in leadership and organisation development. Its work addresses the spiritual poverty that many people experience at work. The consultants work experientially with clients using a holistic approach to development to attract, engage and retain the talent, hearts and minds of committed employees.
WM, which has over 50 years’ experience providing consultancy and chaplaincy to a wide range of companies and organisations within the private, not-for-profit and public sectors, networks with a range of faith groups and networks, and recognises that faith is deeply entwined with every aspect of community and working life.
