Diocesan Board of Finance: Grants and loans for church repairs
The Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) administers some small trust funds which are available for making grants or loans for repairs to church buildings.
Here is the application form for a DBF grant or loan towards the cost of church building repairs with its notes for applicants.
Applications are considered at a DBF or General Committee meeting and should arrive in the office no later than ten days before a meeting. 2017 meeting dates are: 31 January, 6 March, 28 March, 15 May, 20 June, 10 July, 10 October and 13 November.
The John Palmer Organ Fund
The Diocesan Board of Finance is the trustee of a small trust fund arising from the gift of the late John Palmer. Income is distributed on the advice of the Organs Sub-Committee of St Albans DAC in making small grants or loans:
• to enable churches (not necessarily Anglican) in the area of the Diocese of St Albans to commission proper condition reports on their pipe organ, or
• to small churches, especially in rural areas, to enable them to make emergency repairs to their pipe organ.
