Progress
Preparations for the vacancy were put in place.
A new Priest in Charge has been appointed so we are now entering a new phase of mission and ministry for our church, which requires fresh vision and priorities.
The priorities and goals concerning mission and community engagement.
Vision
In five years we hope to be a growing church, at the heart of the community, sharing God’s love.
Values
We seek to love God and follow Jesus by:
Welcoming all, loving others, building relationships and making disciples.
1st Priority
Increasing our visibility:
Make ourselves known to people, groups and organisations of our local community.
Improve our outward-facing communications e.g. exterior noticeboard, website, logo and publicity, social media.
Make interior and exterior improvements to the church building and grounds.
Install new exterior noticeboard by 31/03/2020 (Vicar and Wardens)
Develop new logo and branding by 31/10/2019 (Vicar)
Redesign website by 31/05/2020 (Vicar and external web designer)
2nd Priority
Engaging with the community and addressing local issues.
Provide services and help, bring the community together and offer the building as a hub.
Establish new weekly community ‘Cafe Welcome’ to serve local needs and people, and acquire grant funding by 31/12/2019 (Cafe Welcome Team).
Identify and connect with key community organisations and groups to build good working relationships to support the local community by 30/06/2020 (Vicar and Cafe Welcome Team).
Arrange for uniformed organisations and school children and parents/carers to attend and participate in Christingle Service 22/12/2019 (Vicar)
3rd Priority
Strengthening our resources – people, finances, training, spirituality.
Enable more people to take an active role in the church and community.
Inspire 24/7 Christian living.
Train and equip leaders.
Strengthen our financial position.
Increase Parish Share following Gift Day and teaching, reviewing building hire charges and contracts, and increasing number of hirers by 31/12/2019 (Treasurer, Wardens and Vicar).
Team of church volunteers to attend RNP training course by 31/07/2020 (Cafe Welcome team, PCC members).
Create and deliver sermon series on our vision, mission statement and values by 30/04/2020 (Vicar and visiting preachers).
