Progress
We now run Messy Church 10 times in the year, almost monthly. This has helped create a regular, new congregation who are engaging with the Gospel message.
Our fundraisers have been of excellent quality, thanks to a dedicated team, and enabling us to welcome different members of the village to the St Mary’s community.
We were unable to get started on creating our pastoral visiting team but have made it a goal for this year.
There is a bible study group established but turn out is low due to people’s various commitments.
Vision
A vibrant, diverse, welcoming community, committed to sharing God’s love and to building relationships with all in the community, to help them grow in, and experience, a deeper relationship with God.
Values
Deepening our spiritual life through prayer, worship, study and discipleship
Modelling Christ-like relationships through open effective and trusting communication
Being proactive and welcoming in our outreach to the community and beyond.
1st Priority
Creating a pastoral care team.
To discern a group of people most suitable to pastoral care and to provide training.
2nd Priority
To hold a Messy Church communion service
Investigate how other churches have gone about a messy church communion and see how it could work in our context.
3rd Priority
Ensuring there is diversity in our worship provision.
To establish an evening service of a style not already provided.
