Progress

What progress are you celebrating since your previous MAP?

Friends Group – a small working party had begun discussing this. No-one was found to head this up. Still a good idea worth exploring. Prayer and Evangelism – a Prayer course had taken place. New home group now established on Zoom. Coaxing Questions course worth repeating. Ministry among children and Young Families – The Youth and Children’s Worker at St Andrew’s has been more involved at St Mary’s and helped resource Young Church. Young Church no longer meets. A working group across the two parishes has been reviewing our all-age services. All Age services have been reinstated post Lockdown. A new service Woodland Worship is planned for both parishes. Some of the St Mary’s youth attend the St Andrew’s youth group TMM. Plans to have more social activities across the two parishes to build links. Pastoral Visiting – we now have two licensed pastoral visitors with one more in the wings. They are part of a larger team across the two parishes. The pastoral response during Lockdown was fantastic.

Vision

What is the vision for your Church, Parish, Team Ministry or Benefice?

‘Here with you, here for you’. To become a more inclusive, prayerful and relevant church at the heart of the community, reaching out to the wider parish with spiritual and practical support. Along with our sister church, St Andrew’s, to have a strong Christian presence on the new housing development. To have a wider cross section of ages and backgrounds by offering a variety of services and activities aimed at all ages, both in church, outdoors and online

1st Priority

What is your 1st Priority to make your vision a reality?

To explore worship outdoors and to make more use of our churchyard, including school’s work, outdoors carols and pet service. To further develop relationships with the two school Hertingfordbury Cowper and St Joseph in the Park, through Woodland Worship and Workshop days. To continue to pioneer outreach through Zoom, including an online Searching 4 Faith course. To increasingly use our building for community and arts events. To set up a Friends of St Mary’s Group. To further build and develop the Pastoral Support Team. To explore further the ministry of music at St Mary’s

Which of the 3 strands of Living God’s Love does your 1st Priority most focus on?
