Progress

What progress are you celebrating since your previous MAP?

The local school make regular visits to the church.
The Rector carries out assemblies at the school.
The roof of the church has been repaired.

How far did you meet your previous priorities?
(1 star = Not at all → 10 stars = Done)

Where has there been less progress than hoped for?

The residents in new housing in the parish have looked more to Bedford than Ravensden for their spiritual needs.
Progress has been hampered by the Covid 19 pandemic.

What is the vision for your Church, Parish, Team Ministry or Benefice?

To draw people into the church both for worship, social and other events.

To reach out to everyone in the Parish with the message of Jesus.

1st Priority

What is your 1st Priority to make your vision a reality?

Partnerships – to build growing partnerships with other groups in the village including the school, Parish Council, Friends of the Church, Women’s Institute.

Making New Disciples, Transforming Communities

SMART Goal to achieve your 1st Priority

Work with other groups , using the church building as a venue for community events.
In August 2021 a joint event is to be run with the Friends of the Church with an exhibition on the history of the village of Ravensden.

2nd Priority

What 2nd Priority are you working on to make your vision a reality?

To continue to hold regular services recognising that people attend at different times, especially at the Festivals and at the “In Loving Memory” service in the autumn.

Which of the 3 strands of Living God’s Love does your 2nd Priority most focus on?
Going deeper into God, Making New Disciples

SMART Goal to achieve your 2nd Priority

To hold regular Public Worship in line with Covid 19 guidelines.
Hold the Cross Lighting Services and Harvest Festival for both community and school.
Hold the In Loving Memory Service, Remembrance Day , Christmas and Easter Services.
Monitor attendance numbers.
Ensure events are widely advertised using traditional and social media.

3rd Priority

What 3rd Priority are you working on to make your vision a reality?

Using the building for music, the arts and other events to welcome various people in, especially in conjunction with the Friends of the church.

Transforming Communities

SMART Goal to achieve your 3rd Priority

To hold a jazz night , which has previously been a very popular event.
Hold musical events especially using the organ and encourage local music talent , particularly that of younger people.

What 4th Priority are you working on to make your vision a reality?

Outreach – to be outward looking, not only looking after our own needs; especially serving vulnerable groups.

Identifying local and international causes to support.
To hold a Harvest Festival and lunch to raise money for causes beyond ourselves.
