Here you will find support and encouragement to help you develop your ministry, whether you are ordained or not. You can find out about training, the grants which are available, how to explore your vocation, nurturing spirituality and developing new patterns of ministry, including Local Ministry Teams.
The Council for Discipleship and Ministry is responsible for developing the policy and work underpinning Ministry and Learning in the Diocese.
Equipping God’s People aims to encourage people, including clergy and Readers, to engage in learning so that they are equipped to fulfil the challenge of Living Gods Love and grow in their discipleship.
Ministry Development sets out the various ways in which the Diocese trains, supports and reviews its ministers. The Team is led by the Director of Ministry, and includes the Officer for Initial Ministerial Education 4-7, the Reader Ministry Officer, the Self-Supporting Ministry Officers, the Bishop’s Adviser for Women’s Ministry and also covers work related to the Support in your Ministry scheme.
Parish Development will give you ideas, resources and contacts to help you develop the life of your parish, including youth and children’s work, prayer and spirituality, lay training, stewardship. The Team is led by the Parish Development Officer, the team includes the Children’s Work Adviser, the Youth Officer, the Stewardship Officer and also covers all work related to Lay Training, Local Ministry, the Liturgical Committee and the Prayer and Spirituality Resourcing Group.
Vocations is for those interested in exploring a vocation to licensed ministry as a Reader or ordained minister. The Team is led by the Diocesan Director of Ordinands, and includes the Associate Diocesan Director of Ordinands, the Vocations Officer and the archdeaconry Vocations Advisers.
