Seeking the Way

Seeking the Way, a course for laypeople seeking to know better how and where to serve God and his Church. The next course will run in early 2022 on Saturdays 05 and 26 February & 19 March 2022
10.00am – 4.00pm at St Mark’s, Hitchin, SG5 1PA.  Book your place via Eventbrite.

Training for Lay ministry

The Foundations Course is for people seeking some training to teaching the Faith (Discipleship Enablers), provide pastoral and community care (Pastoral Enablers) and engage in mission and evangelism (Mission Enablers).  The deadline for applications for  The Foundations Course and the CMS Lay Pioneer training course have both passed but we’d love to hear from anyone interested in starting either course in 2022.


2022.  The ordination of Deacons will take place at St Albans Abbey on Saturday 2nd July at 4.00pm.*  The ordination of Priests will take place across the Diocese on either Friday 1st July or Sunday 3rd July*.  The venues are yet to be decided.

*COVID restrictions permitting.

2021 The ordination of Deacons was held in two services on 26 June 2021 at 12.00pm and 4.00pm at St Albans Abbey.  Thirteen people were ordained Deacon this year and you can learn a little about them here.

The ordination of Priests took place across the Diocese from  26 -28 June 2021.  Thirteen people were ordained Priest this year and you can learn a little about them here.

Small group learning
