The Council for Discipleship and Ministry, through the Ministry Development Office, wishes to encourage your ongoing learning and professional development in order to help grow the church by offering a number of training allowances and grants.
The Training and Learning Grant for clergy does not cover travel to events, nor, generally, will it cover Retreats. You can find out more information on the grant in the Training and Learning Grants Policy document. These should be paid by your parish as part of your expenses. The Church of England Guidelines explain this: CofE Clergy Expenses booklet.
Here are links to three trusts which may be able to offer you grants, particularly for further study or Extended Study Leave:
Verulam House Fund Trust – aims to support projects and individuals that promote education, spirituality, witness and service.
St Ethedreda’s Trust – aims to advance the work of deaconesses, female deacons and female priests within the Diocese of St. Albans. Download St Etheldreda Grant Form
CofE Women’s CME Trust – is to further the Continuing Ministerial Education of women in the Church of England by means of grants to assist their work and professional ministry.
