Due to COVID19 the Ordinations at Petertide 2020 have been postponed until September. The ordination of Deacons will take place at 4.00pm on Saturday 26 September in St Albans Abbey. The ordination of Priests will take place at a variety of locations throughout the Diocese over the weekend of 26 to 27 September. Please contact Barbara Young for more details.

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June saw the licensing of 14 Ordinands as Lay-Workers. You can see some photos here.

Seeking the Way
Seeking the Way, a course for laypeople seeking to know better how and where to serve God and his Church. The course will next happen in the Spring of 2021 on Saturdays 06 February, 27 February and 13 March, 10.00am to 4.00pm at St Mark’s Church Hitchin, SG5 1PA. You do need to be able to come to all three sessions.

Step forward and consider ordained ministry in the Anglican church.
Step forward is a day for anyone aged 18 to 30 considering ordained ministry in the Church of England. There will be:
- Time for worship, prayer and Bible study
- An opportunity to find out what being ordained is really like – its highs and lows
- Space to look at your own experience and what God might be calling you to in the future
- The chance to discover how the selection process and ordination training programmes work
Step Forward is for anyone aged 18 to 30 who is wondering whether God might be calling them to ordained ministry in the Church of England. New dates will be announced.
You may have already taken some steps down this route – or you may never have thought about it until now! Either way, the day will help you think, talk and pray through this question.
