Mothers’ Union Worldwide President’s visit
Mothers’ Union Worldwide President, Lynne Tembey, visited St Albans Diocese from 14-16th June. During her brief time in the diocese, she met the Mayor of Stevenage, visited Yarlswood Detention Centre, spent time with Flitwick Deanery and with the Bishop of Bedford and met past and present MU Diocesan Presidents at St Albans Cathedral.
She says her role is to bring encouragement, insight and inspiration from news of the Worldwide Mothers’ union movement. Before her visit, she he had been in Canada with the Mothers’ Union and then in the Mall for the Patrons’ Lunch celebrating Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
Kim Wilkinson, Diocesan MU President said the Worldwide President had left her with a renewed sense of the importance of prayer and that Lynne was a wonderful role-model. “She’s been there and spoken to those people who are suffering deeply in so many parts of the world.”
The Mothers’ Union, in its 140th year, is dedicated to serving families and strengthening family life around the Anglican Communion.
