New Bishop of Guyana elected

The Revd Charles Davidson, currently a parish priest in Philadelphia, USA, has been elected Bishop of Guyana in succession to the Rt Revd Jerome Cornell Moss RIP.
Guyana is one of Sat Albans Diocese’s overseas links in the Anglican Communion.
Fr Davidson is a graduate of the United Theological College of Jamaica and the Codrington College Barbados among others.
He was ordained as a priest in the Diocese of Guyana in June 1977. He served in the Diocese of Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas before moving to the United States of America.
The Diocese of Guyana said: “We extend congratulations to Bishop Elect Fr Charles Davidson and the Church in Guyana and asks your prayers as we go through this transition.”
The Archbishop of the West Indies, The Most Reverend John Holder has been advised of the decision taken by the Elective Assembly of Guyana. The Diocese added “We prayerfully await confirmation of the election of Fr. Charles Davidson.”
