Messy Church for Messy Times

We’re doing a week of Messy Church!
25th May to 29th May

How can we stay engaged with Messy Church families online? How can we stay connected as a Messy Church community of worship and hospitality? How can we provide care and support for our Messy Church communities? How can we invite new families to our online Messy Church?

We would really love for you to join us for a series of conversations to help think about these issues this week.

To enable you to do this we are pulling together a whole pile of resources.

Messy Church Stories

20th May, 7.30pm, via Zoom

We’ll be kicking things off the week before by hearing some Messy Church during lockdown stories.

Four Messy Church practitioners will be sharing their stories over Zoom, and answering any questions you may have!

You can book to join them here:

Twitter Conversations

Throughout the week of 25th/29th May we will be hosting social media conversations around the 5 values of Messy Church. These will be led by Margaret on the @stalbanscme Twitter feed, using the hashtag #MessyChurchAtHome

Our focus will be:-

Monday 25th May: Christ centered
Tuesday 26th May: for all ages
Wednesday 27th May: creative
Thursday 28th May: hospitable
Friday 29th May: celebrating

Zoom Cafes

We’ll be hosting daily ‘cafes’ on Zoom during this week as well, at 2pm each day, focusing on that same value. The Zoom link will be in our newsletters, but you can also email and it will be sent to you.

Some familiar faces from Diocesan leadership will be putting together a Messy Church service, helping us look at bringing Messy Church at Home session plans to life. When it’s completed, you’ll be able to find this video on the Children’s Ministry in St Albans Diocese YouTube channel:
