Children’s Work Resources
The market for Christian literature, toys and material for Children’s Ministry is constantly changing and expanding. New resources are bought for borrowing or inspection; and advertised in our Children’s Ministry News.
Some of the resources which we link to are ideas which others within the Diocese have brought to our attention through our Ideas Factory Days and generously shared with others. If you have a story telling, liturgical or craft idea which can lead children deeper into the great stories of God we would love to hear about it.
There are a number of books, DVDs, Percussion sets, Story Bags and Godly Play box-sets which are available to borrow from the Diocesan Resources Centre. You can download the brochure here.
Beulah Land feltboard resource. Beulah Land can be used for storytelling and for free play. It is suitable for use in Sunday Schools, All-Age Worship, baptism and confirmation preparation, assemblies, holiday clubs and more. We have some of the Beulah Land resources available for you to borrow in the Children’s Work office – click here to download details.
Pray and Play Corners. Maybe your church already has an area specifically created for parents and children to use during worship. Perhaps you are looking to redevelop it or maybe you want to start from scratch. This short factsheet will help you consider some important questions – click here to download.
‘Where have our children gone?’ – a toolkit for churches with few or no children
Today our aim in St Albans Diocese is to enable all to ‘go deeper into God, to make new disciples and to transform our communities’. So what tools are available to the church which is ready to reflect on the possibility of growth and of active engagement and ministry with, for and to children? Contact Julie in the office if you would like a copy sent to you, alternatively click here to download the toolkit.
Experiencing the Festivals – a resource to help parishes and schools connect over the main Christian festivals.
Advent Resources – a collection of material for schools and children’s groups prepared by Revd Andrew Holford.
Going for Growth website always has loads of ideas for celebrating the seasons through prayer, crafts, liturgy and games.
MindEd – a web portal which contains a wealth of information for anybody working with children and young people’s mental health issues.
