Celebrating Church Schools
Bishop’s certificates were introduced in January 2016 to recognise and celebrate schools and individual pupils, staff and governors contribution to the diocesan vision of Living God’s Love.
A Bishop’s Certificate would be awarded to a school or individual who has made an exceptional contribution to one of three areas:
- Living with Christian distinctiveness and generous service
- Actively and courageously tackling issues of social injustice
- Making space to connect with God through scripture, prayer and stillness
Bishop’s Certificates will also be awarded to schools promoting an innovative and creative approach to Religious Education. This fourth category would be open to both Church and Community schools.
Bishop’s Certificates will be presented once a term. To nominate someone for a Certificate please click here. Successful nominees will be invited to a presentation ceremony where they will receive their certificate from one of our three bishops.
