Governance

Governors play a vitally important role in our schools, contributing to school effectiveness, management and, if a foundation governor, maintaining the Christian ethos of the school. Through the Diocese of St Albans Educational Trust (its ‘Umbrella Trust’), the Diocesan Board of Education also has a role in the appointment of Members and Directors (governors) for diocesan academies and free schools. The Trust is also the diocesan corporate member for many of its standalone and multi-academy trusts.

For help and advice on governor-related issues, please contact Governance Adviser Belinda Copson on bcopson@stalbans.anglican.org / 07990 001071.

For foundation governor appointment processes, please get in touch with Vicki Barrière on vbarriere@stalbans.anglican.org / 01727 818170.

We are very grateful for the support given to our schools by their governors.
