Governor Vacancies

Chellington Federation consists of two small C of E VA village schools. Both are primary schools and are in North Bedfordshire close to the Northamptonshire border and many of our pupils attend from out of catchment. The schools are St Lawrence, Wymington and Christopher Reeves, Podington and are covered by one Governing Board.

We would preferably be looking for Governors that could attend meetings in person, but would consider someone who attended some of the meetings remotely. We feel it is important that all governors get to know the schools and are able visit regularly so they fully understand the Christian Ethos and Values of the schools.

If you would like to know more about the vacant posts, please contact the Chair of governors via the schools either admin@crls.org.uk OR admin@st-lawrenceschool.co.uk

2. Foundation Governors

Become a foundation governor and make a difference!

Foundation governors are needed for John Donne C of E Primary School, in Blunham, Bedfordshire.

Some foundation governors are appointed by the diocese and others by the local church. They share in the responsibilities of all governors to ensure strategic development, financial accountability, and support and challenge to the head teacher. Additionally, foundation governors have special responsibilities to support and promote the school’s Christian vision and ethos as a Church of England school. At John Donne, governors need to be able to commit to attending meetings (currently around 7 per year), visiting school occasionally, and taking part in induction, preparation for meetings, and ongoing training for the role.

If you would like to find out more about being a governor with us, please write through the school office, marking your email for the attention of Gemma Webb, Chair of Governors: office@johndonne.co.uk
