SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools)
SIAMS update, 13 September 2021
In the light of the COVID-19 context, a number of amendments have been made to the SIAMS Evaluation Schedule. The changes have been made to allow for the interpretation and implementation of the existing criteria within this new context, and to enable schools to demonstrate the impact of their vision throughout extraordinary circumstances and the absence of published data.
The following are now available through the Church of England SIAMS webpage (www.churchofengland.org/about/education-and-schools/church-schools-and-academies/siams-inspections):
- the revised SIAMS Evaluation Schedule (September 2021)
- an annotated version of the Evaluation Schedule, to clearly show what changes have been made
- a COVID-19 policy, and a revised SIAMS Inspection Deferral Policy and SIAMS Appeals and Complaints Policy
- an Information for Schools document with a digest of the most pertinent information about the SIAMS process
