Journeying with Jacob – Schools
On this page you will find ‘Journeying with Jacob’ materials, a five-week suite of worship resources for primary and secondary schools. The ‘Journeying with Jacob’ materials have been adapted from the Diocese of St Albans ‘Lent 2020: God in this Place’ initiative, produced for church schools within the Diocese. With the news of schools closing to most children, we have decided to release these resources to the national church school family, and have adapted them for use in a school setting. In schools that remain open, please ensure government guidance on social distancing is followed when undertaking worship activities.
Alternatively, you may wish to use these resources later in the year with your whole school community, when all pupils have returned.
The key text which underpins ‘Journeying with Jacob’ is Genesis 28: 10-22. There are many fascinating themes which permeate this text and are explored over the course of five weeks:

Each week contains a professionally filmed VLOG, three worship plans and a range of creative prayer activities. Feel free to adapt or add to the resources in your own context as you see fit.
