Cockernhoe Endowed CE Primary’s Home Learning
9th June 2020
Cockernhoe CE School have been blown away by the dedication and the creative ways their students and parents have embraced home learning.
In reception class one of the ideas for home learning was art inspired by Guiseppe Arcimboldo. Pupils James and Joel thoughtfully created brilliant fruit and vegetable faces.
Amber class, years one and two, have been learning about insect habitats and have built ‘bug hotels’. They have also been on a shape hunt around their houses and have learnt about different places around the world including Ghana.
They found out how children’s lives in Ghana are similar and different to their own and wrote letters to them. The children also created their own Kente patterns using bold colours and geometric shapes.
Emerald class (years three and four) have been looking at Roman numerals and Sapphire class (years five and six) have been very busy creating poems, impressionism art and even Forest School ideas.
