Potten End Primary’s ‘VIRTUAL’ House Day!
5th June 2020
On Friday 1st May, Potten End Primary C of E School held their first ‘VIRTUAL’ House Day. Children, staff and families all took part in a variety of challenges, indoors and outdoors, in order to earn house points for their team. The response was incredible and it was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the day and taking on so many of the challenges. It really encouraged a sense of community during these tricky times with everybody contributing and joining in the fun!
Everyone created house banners, dressed up in our house colours for the day and wrote songs, jingles and poems- even pets got involved! They built towers with everything from garden furniture, biscuits and flowerpots and traveled the furthest distance on go-karts, by cartwheeling and swimming in the swimming pool as part of their daily exercise!
When they are all safely back in school together, Potten End will use all of their photographs and banners from the day to create a large scale piece of art work symbolising each house for the school hall.
In total, as a whole school combined effort, they built a tower which would stand at 230.68m! They travelled 601.01 km and also completed 18, 673 star jumps!
Reception built a tower which would stand at 36.89 m, Year 5 travelled a whopping 110.57 km and Year 2 completed 3099 star jumps in total. The school loved their ‘VIRTUAL’ House Day at Potten End!
