Ukraine Crisis – A Message from Bishop Alan
3rd March 2022
Dear Friends
All around the world people of faith and goodwill are receiving the news from Ukraine with horror and profound concern.
Last Sunday the Archbishops asked us all to intercede for the peace of Ukraine Praying for the Peace of the World | The Church of England
This call to prayer continues, and I ask you to join me in earnest prayer for peace in Ukraine and in our world.
Many are rightly seeking ways to support those fleeing the conflict and supply aid to those who cannot leave. May I commend to you the appeals led by the Disasters Emergency Committee, Christian Aid and Oxfam. Links are provided below:

I have been asked about local collections for goods and supplies such as canned and dried food, clothing, medical supplies, toys and blankets etc. Schemes are being put in place rapidly in many local communities and publicity is typically to be found online. The combination of ‘Ukraine’ and your nearest town in an online search is likely to provide information.
Our faith is rooted in the certainty that in Christ, God is present with us and shares in our hopes and fears. More than ever, the world needs a Christian presence, a message of hope and our continued intercessions.
With thanks for our fellowship in the gospel,
+Alan
