“Most children are absorbed by Godly Play in a matter of minutes, regardless of age or Christian knowledge. Moreover, they can be hungry for it as it provides so much that is lacking in their culture.”
from the Godly Play website
Godly Play uses simple models and artefacts which can be handled and played with by children. Stories are told so that children and adults are encouraged to enter into the story and discover meaning for themselves. Developed in America, children respond to the stories through play and free choice of creative art, and though its primary use is in schools and churches for children it has also been used successfully with adults in church, in care homes and with the elderly.
The St Albans Diocesan Resources Centre has a number of Godly Play box sets for you to borrow – click here to download the flyer.
