We recognise PCCs role as the legal entity for the parish and therefore liaising on issues of recruitment, selection, retention and development are a key part of employing workers. The Diocese wishes to offer its expertise and experience accompanying parishes in this vital area, and hope that we can be used appropriately, particularly at the beginning of these processes.
Employing a Youth, Children’s or Families Worker/Minister
We are able to assist parishes in the employment and management, from helping to shortlist or interview candidates, through to guidance on terms of employment and how best to support the worker in their role.

This initiative ran for over six years, up until 2015. It highlighted best practice in relation to practices and principles parishes use in employing a youth worker, helping the church articulate its desire to value and develop youth workers.
