Schools Work Organisations

There are various schools worker organisations across the Diocese, some of these are detailed below:

Impact is the working title of the Bedford Area Schools Christian Support Trust (BASCST). It is a Christian organisation with registered charity status, working in association with Scripture Union. The aim of the Trust is the advancement of the Christian faith among young people in the Bedford area, particularly in schools and in conjunction with the local Church.  Core activities include taking assemblies, assisting with lunch-time/after-schools clubs and having input in RE/PSHE lessons.

Youthscape Luton (formerly known as Luton Churches Education Trust)

Youthscape Luton works in most of the secondary schools across Luton and has a chaplaincy team which provides inspiration and challenge for the spiritual side of young peoples’ lives. They also have a therapeutic team which is committed to helping young people overcome issues that are having a negative effect on their emotional well-being and their educational achievement.

PHASE works with children and young people across Hitchin, because they are passionate about making a positive impact on their lives. They understand that growing up can sometimes be full of challenges and hard decisions and want to be there for young people, to provide holistic Christian support to all the young lives with which they connect. They work across the schools in Hitchin and in partnership with the local churches to provide the best possible for young people. PHASE want to journey with them, share with them and be there for them.

Step Schoolswork

Step is a group of volunteer Christian schools workers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people through work in schools in the St Albans and Harpenden areas.  The volunteers are from local churches keen to be involved in the holistic education of teenagers and specifically blowing the dust off Christianity. Step specialises in training teenagers as leaders.

The Buntingford, Royston & Villages Ecumenical (BRAVE) Trust

The BRAVE Trust is an independent ecumenical Christian charity established in 2007 to employ schools workers within the middle and upper schools in the towns of Buntingford and Royston in north east Hertfordshire.
