It is the hundreds of volunteers in parishes across the Diocese that make youth and children’s work happen. We support volunteers by equipping them, encouraging and giving advice. We offer occasional training, and more specific assistance where needed.
We recommend you subscribe to our mailings which will keep you up to date with latest events, training and resources available. To be added to our mailing list for youth and/or children’s work contact the office, telling us your name and parish.
We are happy to advise over the phone/Skype or personally. We can signpost both locally and nationally, or develop a mutually interested group over a common theme. You can also engage through social networks and other events held by partner organisations.
Guidance for working with volunteers
‘Working with volunteers’ is a resource by the Church Urban Fund, designed to help Christian organisations and churches work effectively with those in voluntary roles so that individual volunteers and the mission of the church can flourish. The guidance is divided into 7 broad sections. Each has a general guidance sheet and most have samples or templates that you can adapt. Click here to go to the ‘Working well with volunteers’ webpage.
